WORLD REFUGEE DAY Opening Event & Farm Tour!

For the first time in history, California is officially recognizing World Refugee Day! It is the perfect time to celebrate the opening of our newest Farm from a Box unit, “Karma!"

Meet with the IRC, local resettlement agencies and community leaders as we honor the incredible resilience, strength, courage, and contributions of refugees resettled in Sacramento, and cut the ribbon for “Karma!”

We have partnered with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), to launch a new farm and help recently resettled refugees from Nepal, and Bhutan reestablish their ties to the land, celebrate their heritage and nourish themselves and their neighbors through urban farming and micro-enterprise training. It is all about establishing new roots -literally- in their new community of West Sacramento, California!

“Karma,” as named by the refugees at the New Roots farm, comes with additional features that will boost the overall efficiency and productivity of the farm! From an internal walk-in cold storage system, to our complete IoT-enabled Control and Monitoring platform, this unit brings the best of technology to sustainable, locally grown food!
